Unlike the normal offering of The Gym, this training is not about software engineering. It is about the other roles in any digital business. Each participant will pick one specialization and be trained specifically for that role. After the training they will be hired in this role by The Gym, to assist us in running our operations.
This is a unique opportunity for ambitious young professionals without a software engineering background, to enjoy the steep learning curve The Gym is known for.
This training is not going to be a recurring offering. It is a one-time opportunity that we will provide to a small group of outstanding candidates.
The specializations offered are
The training will be a 6-month full-time training, conducted on-site at our training facility in Nyarutarama. We will train a small group of around 8 participants. After the training, all successful candidates will be hired by The Gym to support us in running our operations.
Participants will receive breakfast, lunch and dinner at the training facility. Participants without their own laptop will be provided with a laptop that they can use for the duration of the training.
The training will be intense, with an average of 10 net training hours per day. Participants will need to focus exclusively on the training. They will not be able to pursue studies or other work in parallel to the training.
During the training participants are subject to monthly interim assessments called Gates. Only participants who pass a Gate are allowed to continue with the training. Those who fail, cannot continue.
Participants will receive a trainee-stipend of 200,000 RWF net during the first three months, increasing to 300,000 RWF from the fourth month onwards. The starting salary for participants who graduate from the training and are hired by The Gym is 500,000 RWF net.
Participants will receive extensive professional skills training ranging from communication and public speaking, to effective briefing absorption, task- and project-management, and to precision training and agile team work methodologies.
